The Samaritans Christmas Shoe Box appeal 2005

Operation Christmas Child

We are pleased to report that the Groups Sea Cubs, Scouts and their Families managed to prepare and fill 20 boxs this year, for the Samaritans Christmas Box appeal. This was a tremendous effort.

These boxes have been delivered to the appeal collection point already, and will soon be on their way to children in need somewhere in the world.

A big Thank You to everyone involved.

New Chief Scout

Actor and TV action man Peter Duncan is set to take on a new challenge as Chief Scout.

Famous for his round-the-world expeditions, as well as his stint on Blue Peter and Duncan Dares in the 1980's, Peter is delighted to be breaking new ground with the Scout Movement.

As Peter, a former Cub Scout, takes up his five-year appointment, he follows in the footsteps of only eight others who have held the role of Chief Scout since Baden-Powell.
